Description
This authentic Colt Single Action Army revolver was originally manufactured in 1883 and later modified by Stembridge Gun Rentals, Inc. for use in film and television. Chambered in .41 Colt, the revolver was converted by Stembridge’s Hollywood armorers for blank-fire operation, a standard practice for on-screen productions of the mid-20th century.
The revolver retains its classic nickel finish and features a 4 ¾-inch barrel, plastic stag-style grips, and the iconic Stembridge “S” marking over the frame serial number — identifying it as part of the studio’s renowned rental inventory. These revolvers appeared throughout the golden age of western television, frequently used by stars and production companies for fast-draw sequences and hero close-ups.
Fine as modified and preserved by Stembridge, this revolver embodies the look and feel of Hollywood’s mid-century Westerns. Its patina and handling marks tell the story of decades of use in the hands of stuntmen, gunslingers, and production legends.
