Description
This is a Mauser Modelo 1895 Chilean Contract Rifle, chambered in 7x57mm Mauser. Produced by Loewe Berlin and later DWM (Deutsche Waffen und Munitionsfabriken), these rifles were manufactured under contract for the Chilean military and are known for their fine craftsmanship and smooth bolt action.
The rifle retains its original military configuration with straight bolt handle, military sights, and full-length walnut stock. The receiver ring is marked with the Chilean crest, and the sidewall bears the Mauser Chileno Modelo 1895 designation along with the manufacturer’s markings. The blued finish shows natural patina from service use, while the walnut stock displays character marks and matching serial numbers.
Renowned for its accuracy and balance, the 7x57mm cartridge made the Mauser 1895 a favorite among both soldiers and later civilian shooters. Today, these rifles are sought after by collectors of South American Mausers as well as shooters looking for a historic yet functional bolt-action rifle.
